Auctions

From Civ World

Jump to: navigation, search

Auctions are special opportunities for players to win unique bonuses and rewards. Auctions are run at random intervals in the Market.

Players bid on auctions using gold from their treasury. Each time they bid, the gold needed to make the bid is deducted from their treasury. If they are outbid, the gold will be returned immediately. If a player does not have enough gold to make the bid, they can get gold using Civ Bucks to cover the shortfall.

The following are the auctions available in Civilization World:

Contents

Temple of Angkor Wat

The winner acquires 10 Fame points.

Ark of the Covenant

The winner is promoted to King or Queen of their civilization.

Lost City of Atlantis

The winner's civilization learns a currently unknown but researchable technology, chosen at random based on their known technologies at the time the auction is won. The person with the most science in that technology when the auction is won will be declared the MVP and receive the science medal for that technology along with any corresponding bonus.

School of Confucius

The winner's current accumulated science is doubled.

Seven Cities of Gold

The winner acquires gold equal to 1% of all the world's gold.

Knights Templar

The defensive value of the winner's defending Military Units are doubled, up to a maximum of 10 units per type. This refers to units currently in a battle on the defender's side. If the winner is not in a battle defending their own civilization or is the attacker, the auction will have no effect. This effect lasts for the duration of the current battle.

Lascaux Cave Paintings

The winner acquires one random Ministry Position in their Civilization.

The Ten Commandments

The winner gains a Great Person. They will win the same type of Great Person they would have gotten through simple culture points.

The Great Sphinx

20% of the winner's gold is converted to production.

School of Athens

The winner instantly doubles his research on the current technology.

Terracotta Army

The winner gains 500 production.

Court of Camelot

The winner's Palace is upgraded. Note that the maximum size for any building, including the Palace, is "ginormous." If the winner's Palace is already ginormous, the auction will have no effect.
